The lens was basically perfect for portrait work: the colors were warm and saturated, the bokeh has to be the smoothest out of all the lenses I've used so far, and getting focus was a breeze.
All these little elements fell into place for an unforgettable and fun photo shoot!

There are lenses you use — and there are lenses that change how you see.

The new 11mm f/2.8 II Fisheye from @brightin.star is all about experimentation. It pushes you out of safe compositions and forces you to think in shapes, lines, and tension. You don’t just shoot — you build the frame.

You have to get closer, move more, look for angles. And that’s where the magic happens. The 182° field of view pulls everything in — architecture wraps around the subject, foreground becomes part of the story, and even simple scenes start to feel dynamic and bold.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about character and style.

Distortion here isn’t a flaw — it’s a tool. It adds energy, attitude, and makes every shot feel more alive. Perfect for fashion, urban, and anything experimental. Manual focus slows you down in a good way — every frame becomes intentional.

This lens won’t suit everyone. But if you want to break visual boundaries and create something different — it can genuinely transform your visual style.

Do you really need a lens worth thousands of euros to take good photos?

These images were taken with a Brightin Star 35mm F1.4 manual lens and a simple setup with two Aparo HT-20 inflatable lights. No frills. No excuses.

Because the truth is, it's not your equipment… it's your eye.

A well-made lens + portable lights + intention = results that speak for themselves.

Now tell me: do you still think equipment is holding you back, or is it time to go out and create with what you have?

New addition to my kit

This is a full-frame ultra-wide-angle lens with a field of view of approximately 132°. What I really like is that despite the very wide angle, there's very little distortion: the lines are clean, there's no fisheye effect, and for architecture or landscapes, that makes all the difference.

Another super practical feature: the ability to add an ND1000 filter directly to the base of the lens. No need for an external filter or a complicated system.

Compact, very (really very) wide angle of view… clearly the kind of focal length that encourages creativity

Here, with my usual 14mm lens, it's normally impossible for me to photograph the port of Saint-Goustan in a single shot, for example

The kind of lens that makes everything feel different.
